We’re proud to announce the re-release of a great product for FWD drag racers that was originally introduced by our friends over at Kaizenspeed; the Lightweight Rear Trailing Arm Kit with Staging Brakes. Kaizenspeed has shifted their focus to other products but still wanted this product to be available to the Honda drag racing community. We are now happy to offer these kits as a SpeedFactory Racing product with a few updates and new pricing!

This kit reduces weight in one of the most important areas of a FWD race car while maintaining the use of your OEM style shocks and lower control arms.

It features an adjustable wheelbase with a design optimized for lowered cars and is one of the best bang for the buck modifications you can make to reduce weight and improve ET’s and MPH by completely replacing the entire rear trailing arm and braking assembly. This allows for an extended wheelbase up to +2” to reduce weight transfer and reduces overall vehicle weight by 50+ pounds & improving front to rear weight bias!

All performance or racing components must be inspected regularly for wear. It’s a good habit to inspect all components regularly, especially critical components such as brakes, tires, and suspension components. Often a catastrophic problem can be avoided by thorough attention to detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

What cars does this fit?

Civic from 1988-2000 including CRX, Civic coupe and sedan. Integra from 1990-2001 including DA, Integra coupe and sedan.

My car has drum brakes, will this fit?

Yes, it will bolt up to disc brake or drum brake cars. If your car has factory drum brakes you’ll need to purchase hubs for a disc brake car. We sell the correct hubs as an available option.

What about the lower control arm angle?

The Rear Trailing Arms were designed to achieve a straight lower control arm (LCA) when the wheelbase is extended ¾”. It is possible to have standard wheelbase or extend the wheelbase as much as 2” beyond stock. This is accomplished by bushing deflection. This can also be accomplished with an LCA that has spherical bearings installed.

Does this work with Traction Control?

Yes. Both sensor options work with traction control. Use the Hall sensor bracket if using a Hall effect sensor with an aftermarket standalone ECU – this reads off the back of the wheel studs.

If you are using Hondata Traction Control you will use the ABS Sensor Bracket and factory ABS sensor which reads off the factory ABS ring.

The ABS sensor is a mag sensor, which produces a sine wave. If you choose to go this route with an aftermarket standalone ECU such as AEM, Motec, Haltech, etc. you'll need a signal converter (MSD PN 8509) to convert from a sine wave to a square wave signal.
